Star Of David Oil Chanukkah Menorah

This Star of David Oil Chanukkah Menorah was hand built from porcelain and Stoneware. Oil can be poured directly into the connected ‘cups’ and lit with floating wicks, Alternatively, you could secure candles into the cups with wax, or sit tea lights in them. I poured my soul into crafting this large, one-of-a-kind piece over a number of days. I love to think of it as a family heirloom, spreading light through the generations! At the start of this terrible time, it was important to me as an artist to visually express my love for our Homeland and for our People. I thought of this motif of interconnected Stars of David, as a way to symbolize our interconnectivity, our perseverance and our strength. I carved the pattern into a piece of linoleum and then used it to make the raised pattern in porcelain and stoneware clay. I created a collection of pieces using this raised texture, including this stoneware mug. The collection includes 2 mugs, an assortment of stoneware trays, a serving plate and bowl, a Havdalah Set, a Modular Passover Plate and a porcelain platter.
